Medical Clinic I
Clinic for Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Haematology, Nephrology and Infectious Diseases
The Medical Clinic I has a capacity of 55 beds. Important areas are gastroenterology, infectiology, haematology and oncology, endocrinology including diabetes mellitus as well as intensive care and nephrology.
Gastroenterology diagnoses and treats all benign and malignant diseases. For this, modern equipment is on standby with all diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities.
The endosonography complements the diagnostic spectrum. Due to this, tumours of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract can be classified and treated more accurately. The Surgical Clinic I and Medical Clinic I decide for every case if an endoscopic or surgical treatment is more appropriate.
The oncological department diagnoses all diseases by the use of instrument-based diagnostic and bone marrow aspiration, if necessary in cooperation with a special laboratory. Within interdisciplinary conferences all cases will be discussed. Conventional chemo therapies with curative and palliative indication are used for treatment. The Therapy complies with national and international studies. Supporting that, all palliative endoscopic interventions are possible.
In cooperation with the Clinic for Radiology all endocrine diseases can be diagnosed and medicinal treated. The close cooperation with the Surgical Clinic I ensures a competent and modern surgical therapy if necessary. Patients with Diabetes Mellitus are being extensively cared for.
